It's All About Showing Up!
Ladies as you know one of my favorite sayings is It's All About SHOWING UP and the POWER is in the ASKING. Well today I want to share with you a true story. See email below I got today from a wonderful woman who flew in from Colorado and who sat next to me at an event I was speaking at.
I was a speaker at Jill Lublin's event in LA and at my table were Denice Cook a good friend who I invited and a friend Keg Johnson who she invited and others. On the right of me was Linda Haller who had flown in I believe for Colorado she saw my topic and others and decided to hop on a plane and come so that was the SHOW UP part.
At the table I was sharing a story about the Power of those two sayings and telling the story of one of my members Marguerita who wants to meet Smokey Robinson and my friend Denice sitting to the left of me said "I can make that happen as Smokey Robinson's wife is a good friend of mine". Linda said well that might work for her but I have never ASKED and if I think of one thing I would like to meet Neil Diamond, well in an instance Keg got out his cell phone and dialed Neil Diamond's drummer King Errison who said he would do what he could to make this happen. Linda was blown away and in that instance she became a believer of what I try to teach all the women in my life. So read her letter to me, and remember SHOWING UP is like a treasure map, you never know what treasure you will find, but in order to find those treasures it is up to YOU to do the ASK part to everyone you meet.
I have hundreds of stories like this that people share with me when they listen to me and start SHOWING UP and practicing the ASK part, and some of the stories and then magic starts to happen for them. So what is your ASK...sit down and give it some thought and get it out there. Remember people are not mind readers they do not know what you want or need until you ask Remember my number one thing in my bucket list I asked for was a white Maltese female dog and two days later one of my members called me and said Robbie I have that dog and I cannot keep her anymore and I am gifting it to her, and what made it so much more exciting is I am as you know known as the Queen Diva and the dogs name is Majesty and she came with all her rhinestone glitter and she is adorable and such a love and exactly what I was asking for. I practice the ASK everyday when I am looking for things for others or for the many organizations I am a part of and most of the time they happen instantly and some take a little longer but I never give up and if I get a NO I just ASK someone else. And everytime I SHOW UP no matter where it is I meet a treasure. If you have an ASK story to share I would love to hear of it to put on my blog http://blog.rmotter.com and also perhaps to even interview you on my radio show and have you share the story...Have a magnificent day my friends, and surround yourself with positive people and most of all NEVER give up...
